AUSSIE STARS RATE THEIR LUXURY HOTELS

A SWAG OF Australian A-listers have revealed how they really rate some of the world's most luxurious hotels - and they don't hold back.
As part of the Kiwi Collection's new Ambassador Hotel Review Series, well-known Australians including Naomi Watts, Rose Byrne, Marc Newson, Collette Dinnigan, Neil Perry, Kathy Lette and Tim Maguire have all given their personal critique of hotels they have stayed in.
This new series allows travellers an insight into top hotels around the world through both Kiwi Collection’s new rating system and our celebrities.
The reviews include a diversity of hotels around the world including The Upper House in Hong Kong, the Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai, Palace Wing and Le Burgundy in Paris to name a few. Ambassadors also give local travel tips and insider information.
Byrne, who reviewed L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills near Rodeo Drive, gave their service and location a 10/10, but she scored their food and beverage and Wow Factor a 6/10.
She said: "The best words to describe this hotel are lovely, clean, calm and quiet. It is not a scene, nor achingly hip, but rather a serene escape from the madness of LA.
"The service was great. It never felt overrun or over wrought. The staff I dealt with was easy going and dignified.
"If you want high-octane bars, people and noise then L'Ermitage is not your place. However, if you want cool, calm and collected, then this hotel is great."
Naomi Watts reviewed The Bowery Hotel in New York City. She scored them 10/10 for their rooms, Wow factor, location, attention and generosity, but their spa and fitness rated a 6/10.
She said: "We have stayed at the Bowery many times – our NY getaway. We love how cosy it is – it feels like our own home. The design and attention to detail is superb.
"We love inviting friends to join us on the terrace of the special suite. It is a great spot to entertain."
