Drive in style at Halekulani
Halekulani has unveiled an exotic automobile amenity program

This 2008 Maserati GranTurismo (more info below) is only one reason to visit Halekulani, on the outskirts of Honolulu, this year - apart from anything else; the legendary hotel is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The luxury hotel, Halekulani, has started what it calls an exotic automobile amenity program, Art in Motion. The hotel has an exceptional fleet of limousines (see below), which is actually calling 'works of art'. These are included as part of your guest experience if you stay in one of the Halekulani Premier Suites, namely The Royal Suite, The Vera Wang Suite and the new lifestyle oasis, The Orchid Suite. Other hotel guests can pay for use of the vehicles.
The Maserati GranTurismo expresses dynamic tension and a sporty edge, the large oval grille, the bodywork that seems to be drawn tight over the frame like a figure hugging dress, right down to the rear flanks. Pininfarina has created an elegant and sensual look around the idea that is the GranTurismo project. Sportiness is combined with true space for four. This sleek appearance, combined with solidity and grace, provokes a fascinating mix of sensations. The GranTurismo transcends style and instead enters into the rarefied world of true beauty. The work of art - for that is what it is - was designed and created by Pininfarina S.p.A, a company that is a work of art in its own right as it creates for all the top marques. Pininfarina was founded in 1930 by Battista “Pinin” Farina and gradually the company named evolved to take in his nickname. It is very much family-run. Battista Farina was succeeded by one of his sons, Sergio, who in turn handed the reins to one of his sons, Andrea Pininfarina: tragically, the then-Chairman and CEO of Pininfarina S.p.A, Andrea Pininfarina, was killed commuting to work on his scooter in August 2008, and his brother Paolo Pininfarina has taken over as Chairman.
Other cars in the Halekulani Art in Motion collection include the Bentley Continental GTC was inspired by the Grand Touring tradition of Bentley legend, www.bentleymotors.com. Born of Bentley’s breathtaking Continental GT coupé. With the endless power of a 12-cylinder, 6-litre twin-turbocharged engine urging you from 0-60mph in just 4.8 seconds. And a canopy opening up to the endless skies in

less than 25 seconds. Welcome to convertible motoring at its exhilarating best.
There is also the Lotus Elise, www.lotuscars.com. Handcrafted in England; the limited-production Elise has been called one of the world’s best sports cars -- “a singularly enjoyable driving experience” that sets new standards for exclusivity and agility. No-nonsense and highly responsive, the Elise is easy to drive yet capable of exceptional performance: 150 mph top speed and 0 – 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. Fifty years experience in racing design and a passion for driving by Lotus engineers has resulted in one of the most desirable exotic cars on the market -- and it’s now available exclusively at the Halekulani's sister and neighboring property, the Waikiki Parc Hotel. Add to the list, too, the Lotus Exige S, a combination of unbelievable performance and incredible handling performing 0 - 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. The 220 hp supercharged engine displays impressive flexibility, which makes the car feel 'relaxed' yet instantly responsive. Precise steering, outstanding suspension and high-grip Yokohama tires give the Exige S the kind of handling that has made Lotus legendary.
So, stay at Halekulani, which means 'house befitting heaven', and you can brag, afterwards, about your Art in Motion vehicle. Plan your trip, too, to coincide with such special events as the annual Honolulu Festival, Hawaii's premier cultural event, which this year takes place March 13-15, 2009.
