The beauty of this place is so immense. I was quite overcome. I was shown my room, or should I say garden suite…with my name beautifully written in calligraphy on the front door, and in a split second wanted to write poetry, make lists of all my dreams and make them come true over the course of the weekend.

It’s a fairy tale hotel and cannot be missed. The half moon shaped facade takes your breathe away. Situated on acres of open land, with an almost Parisian country garden with larger than life antique urns scattered throughout the garden. The rooms are filled with antique lithographs, delicate old English furniture, and large bathrooms. My Beau Nash suite had a glasshouse atrium with the most beautifully tinted green painted double french doors that lead onto the open green garden. The scones are probably the best I have ever tried, I beg anyone to differ! and the bread is made on the premises. The morning Scandinavian berries are a must.

The dinner was outstanding as was the wine pairing. The maids outfits are sublime. They almost look like nurses uniforms from something out of the 1940’s. It’s 1 pm and I am drinking white wine from Argentina, eating the most incredible salmon sandwich with dill yoghurt and my french bulldog, Glee, has gone to explore. The divine staff have assured me she cannot get out, so as not many New York dogs get to do, she will wander the grounds and I will sit back and write down my dreams.

It’s private, secluded, central to the roman baths, shopping and the most exquisite parklands. The bath house spa is out of this world, people wandering the private garden in lush white robes sitting on the rustic benches, allow the guests to be with nature as they wait for their spa services. Sometimes in life you get the privilege to witness and stay where you feel like all the planets have aligned, in my case, the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath. She goes down as one of the most beautiful spots on this earth.
