Marc Newson is a successful industrial designer who works in aircraft, product and furniture design. A Royal Designer for Industry in the U.K. and Creative Director of Qantas Airways, he is known for his biomorphic design sensibility, perhaps best exemplified in his iconic Lockheed Lounge chair.
A majestic hotel in the heart of the Cotswolds set within 55 acres of stunning countryside and surrounded by glistening lakes. It is an ideal retreat from London.
The service was attentive without being pretentious. The light and airy restaurant offered an accomplished seasonal menu.
The bedroom decor was slightly disappointing. To me it resembled something from Wallpaper magazine – a kind of pastiche, wannabe modern that seemed slightly cheap. The décor certainly did not do justice to the classic building. Nonetheless, this was a great place to come with the family. There were lots of activities to keep our children occupied while mom and dad relaxed in the fantastic spa. Adventurous families can borrow wellington boots and explore more than 500 miles of public footpaths that wind through the hills and tree-lined valleys.
