Neil Perry is one of Australia’s most influential chefs. Today, he concentrates on his flagship brand, Rockpool, which includes an array of restaurants, and leads a team of consultants to Qantas Airways on menu development. He is also an author of five recipe books and a television presenter on The Lifestyle Channel.
The First Hotel Skt Petri is centrally located in Copenhagen. The hotel is very modern, and well suited to the business conferences it hosts. It’s really more of a business hotel than a leisure hotel.
Maybe it’s a Danish thing, but our double bed had two single doonas, which I had never experienced before. The Bang & Olufsen TV was a nice touch. We had a great view over the university and Skt Petri church.
It’s a bonus having the gym next door. It was big and modern with good equipment. And if you’re feeling really healthy (or hungover), there is a juice bar that serves fantastic fresh juices, which can be hard to find when you’re travelling.
Unfortunately the service in the hotel was lacking. Although everyone spoke English, I don’t think there is a dedicated concierge, so it would be wise not to rely on the hotel for recommendations on good places to eat, shop and sightsee.
