Art 41 Basel

It’s that time of year again.  From June 16th – 20th, Switzerland’s third most populous city, a place that is home to world-class museums, outdoor sculptures, theaters, concert halls, an idyllic medieval old town and new buildings by leading architects, hosts Art 41 Basel.

And that means… those of you who have yet to visit Basel have a perfect excuse to do so this month. Especially if you’re an art lover! Located where the Swiss, French and German borders meet, Basel stretches out along  the banks of the Rhine in Switzerland.

The city has been described as a culture capital, so when it is enhanced by the annual arrival of the “premier international art show for Modern and contemporary works,” the result is a heavenly playground for art lovers from all over the globe.

Close to 300 leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa are represented at this year’s event. Artwork by more than 2,500 artists will be featured in Basel this June.

From the great masters of Modern art to the newest generation of talented up and comers, artists from all walks of life are represented in the show’s multiple sections.

61,000 people attended Art 40 Basel, the last edition of the art world’s meeting point… who knows how many will show up this year? For more information, check out Art Basel’s website.

And here is a perfect option if you are in need of a place to stay while in Basel:
