It’s no secret that all the hotels in Kiwi Collection are the best of the best. So when the winners of this year’s Australian Gourmet Traveler awards were announced, we weren’t surprised to see properties Kiwi Collection represents cleaning up.

Readers’ Choice Awards: Best Hotel Villas/Suites

Qualia (winner of the Best New Property award in 2008 and Best Resort Accommodation last year) won Best Spa and this year’s new category: Best Hotel Villas/Suites. The runner-up is another property included in Kiwi Collection: Crown Towers.

Readers’ Choice Awards: Best Spa/Health Retreat

The name Qualia means “a collection of deep sensory experiences,” so it’s only fitting that it would win the Best Spa/Health Retreat award. Of course, Gaia Retreat & Spa is another incredible place, and came in as this category’s runner-up.

Expert Panel Awards: Best Green Tourism Initiative

Since it opened in 2008, Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef has been welcoming guests to nine safari-style tents that sit above dunes and subsist on solar power, chemical-free linen, and daily water rations. This is a magical place, where guests enjoy sunset cocktails, lamplight dinners and the wondrous feeling that comes with the territory of one of the world’s great reefs.
