South Korea calling. Rene Vosslamber checks-in at the mod W Seoul Walkerhill. Click through for his personal highlights and photographs.
The playful style and interiors (see the round bed below), Namu for Japanese cuisine and the hotel’s spa and fitness facility were highlights.
I also liked the Woo Bar in the lobby, the longest in Korea (as everyone keeps telling you). It has a café feel during the day, but at 9 p.m. the music is cranked and the space transformed.
Bear in mind though that it’s located on the outskirts of Seoul. Be prepared to cab for 30 minutes or more to get most places. Also, the restaurants’ menu prices seemed unnecessarily high.
