We polled a few of our Kiwi Experts on what they’ll be doing (or dream of doing) this New Year’s Eve.
Philippe Kjellgren: “I’m going to Mojo Island with my wife and some good friends for amazing diving. We’re staying in one of the hotel industry’s best tents at Amanwana.”
Bradley Cocks: “New Year’s Eve is always anti-climatic for me so I retreat from the crowds and fireworks in Sydney to the country area of the south coast of New South Wales, Australia. Plenty of open space and amazing surfing beaches. On the night we have a small gather of friends with great food, wine, music and usually a few games of cards.”
Daniel Szelényi: “This year I feel like going away from the parties, the noise and the fireworks, and so I suggest Kasbah Tamadot, Sir Richard Branson’s Moroccan mountain retreat, booking one of their new Berber tents and enjoying a fabulous lamb tajine dinner with Moroccan red wine. The silence of the valley combined with the magic of the Moroccan lights and hundreds of candles is a dream come true.”
Mary Gostelow: “I will be sailing through the Panama Canal on the world’s best floating hotel, Silver Cloud. There will be champagne galore, a great long dinner, and at midnight we will be up on deck looking at the stars. On January 1st it will be up again, running round the deck for morning exercise before a galley brunch and visit to the kitchen to see the food being prepared. And then it is back to luxury—think Kiwi Collection—hotels.”
