Fresh Picks: Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

Fresh Picks features the latest luxury properties admitted into the Kiwi Collection. This week we wander around the Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest.

Where: Hungary’s capital and largest city, Budapest, is home to this hotel. It sits within the 111-year-old Klotild Palace which is situated on the popular Váci utca shopping street.

What: Just a few months old, this 102-suite property is in keeping with Raymond Visan’s Buddha-Bar concept which began with a restaurant-cum-club in Paris, expanded and now includes hotels and resorts. Their benchmarks are Asian-Colonial interiors and a host of restaurants, bars and lounges befitting cultural fusion. It somehow manages to be vibrant and Zen all at once. For more of that Zen feeling, the Buddhattitude Spa is at your service with its own in-house line of pampering products.

Who: Those who love a little East meets West, and like their nightlife close at hand.

Why: Because Budapest is one of those multifaceted cities where new and old converge and both thrills and tranquility can be found—this Buddha-Bar helps bring those all together beautifully.
