Fresh Picks: c/o Krägga Herrgård

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

“Fresh Picks” features the latest luxury properties admitted into the Kiwi Collection. This week, we take a peek inside c/o Krägga Herrgård.

Where: Just a 45-minute drive from central Stockholm (or 16-minute helicopter ride, if you prefer a chopper’s eye view), it idyllically overlooks Lake Mälaren, hence occupying that sought after away from it all without being stuck in the boonies sweet spot.

What: It’s both historic and earth-friendly, another winning combination. The 14th-century property was once owned by Sweden’s only saint, now its mansion, north and south wings and surrounding villas contain 47 impeccably-decorated rooms for guests. They meet the Svan Eco label’s strict environmental criteria. They’re also friendly to our four-legged friends (if the pups in the pics hadn’t tipped you off to that). A c/o standard, good dogs and cats are welcome to stay, and even eat in the dining room alongside you off their own menu.

Who: Those looking for a little repose, Swedish-style, and you can’t or won’t find a pet-sitter.

Why: Because with Christmas less than two weeks away, your head’s spinning for a real holiday. Let Jultomten (Swedish Santa Claus) buy you a week here.
