Fresh Picks: Grand Hotel Villa Cora

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

Fresh Picks features the latest luxury properties admitted into the Kiwi Collection. This week, we’re off (virtually-speaking) to peer in at the Grand Hotel Villa Cora in Italy.

Where: The fashionable and flirty city of Florence. Here you find art galleries galore, architecture and Ferragamo. The hotel is a refuge within the Renaissance city, with the pulsating center just a 10 minute walk or five minute shuttle away.

What: Verona was the setting for Romeo and Juliet, but this elegant nineteenth century mansion could easily sub in as the Capulet home. Outside, there’s gorgeous greenery and a heated swimming pool. Inside, find 46 regal rooms and suites, restaurant, bar, cigar room, pool-side bistro and spa (with tepidarium and Turkish bath, ooh la la!).

Who: Swoony couples, art history geeks and la dolce vita seekers. Who doesn’t find something (or someone) they love in Florence?

Why: The property earned a 91 out of 100 rating, so it’s more than just a pretty face.
