Fresh Picks: Hilton Queenstown

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

Fresh Picks features the latest luxury properties admitted into the Kiwi Collection. This week, we zip down to New Zealand and check out Hilton Queenstown Hotel.

Where: In Queenstown’s Kawarau Village with jaw-dropping views of Lake Wakatipu. The city center with its cool cafes and restaurants is a 10-minute water taxi ride away.

What: Alpine style suites in earthy hues. Their Relaxation Rooms offer the added benefit of a deck with a hot tub for a soak with a side of astounding lake and mountain views. There’s also a pool, spa, three restaurants and two bars to feed your vacation wants and needs.

Who: Those who want adventure tourism (Queenstown has it all—rafting, heli-skiing, sky diving and more) buffered by big comfy beds and many other finer things.

Why: Because finishing a bottle of Central Otago-made Pinot Noir from the Wakatipu Grill’s 1,000-strong wine cellar on the restaurant’s lakeside terrace should be on your bucket list.
