Fresh Picks: Hyatt Capital Gate

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

“Fresh Picks” features the latest luxury properties admitted into the Kiwi Collection. This week, we take a peek inside Hyatt Capital Gate.

Where: In the city that never skimps, Abu Dhabi.

What: The world’s largest leaning building, tilting a staggering 18 degrees, contains 189 five-star rooms and suites. The hotel takes up the 18th to 33rd floors, featuring fine dining, a sky-high spa and a rooftop helicopter pad (in case you need to make a quick exit).

Who: Those in town to do business (the building is situated within the embassy and government district) or see Madonna (the queen of pop just announced a June 3 tour date at Yas Arena).

Why: You don’t ask why in Abu Dhabi. If you do, the answer is “why not?” After all, this is the place that planned to man-make not one, not two, but three palm tree-shaped islands. But why not contemplate the whys over a drink and a view at the pool bar.
