Fresh Picks: Shore Club

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

Fresh Picks features the latest luxury properties admitted into the Kiwi Collection. This week, we check out the Shore Club.

Where: Miami’s South Beach where the sun is hot (still) and the parties hotter.

What: In contrast to the pulsing nightlife and not competing with the ocean view, the cool, calming white-on-white rooms, 386 of them, were designed by famed British architect David Chipperfield. Outside, the landscape and pool areas are inspired by the plush palette of Marrakech’s Jardin Majorelle. Take your pick of a dip in either infinity pool, or head to the beach. Their Rumbar, which offers 75 different rums, will get you ready to rumba. And let us not forget Nobu; the hotel is home to the Miami incarnation of the famed, celeb-favored Japanese restaurant. There’s also Tuscan fare to be consumed at AGO, co-owned by Robert DeNiro.

Who: Heat seekers. You’ll find both the crowd and the climate balmy.

Why: Not why, but when. The second weekend of December for Art Basel Miami Beach is a good time, but who wants to wait that long?
