- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

“Fresh Picks” features the latest luxury properties admitted into the Kiwi Collection. This week, we take a peek inside the recently opened St. Regis Tianjin.

Where: A 30-minute high-speed rail ride from Beijing, the cool cube-shaped hotel sits on prime real estate, anchored along the Hai River in Tianjin.

What: 274 spacious and sumptuously decorated rooms, one of which is the biggest presidential suite in the city. There are six restaurants and lounges on site plus a spa, so you don’t need to go far for sustenance or special treatment. With it’s proximity to the business district, it’s ideal accommodation for those in town to talk mergers and acquisitions.

Who: White collars who like crisp white sheets, higher ceilings and across-the-board elegance.

Why: It’s the city’s first hotel to offer butler service for all guests.
