Sleep in a Treehouse: Sweden’s Treehotel

- Amy Chan, Director of Marketing at Kiwi Collection, Huffington Post blogger and 24 Hours Newspaper columnist

If you’re up for a more experiential vacation this year, make like a tree, literally.

Treehotel in Northern Sweden offers seven unique cottages, suspended high above the Boreal forrest. The rooms are built using local sustainable wood and incorporates green innovations such as freezer toilets (we won’t get into the details).

Rooms are accessed by a rope ladder or a rope bridge connected to a nearby tree. All the rooms are designed to be “harmonious” with nature. For example, the reflective exterior of the Mirrorcube is coated with a special film that help prevent birds from flying into it.

The Tree Hotel will be open all year round. To see the rest of the room types including The Tree Sauna, visit the Treehotel property page.
