MTV Music Video Awards 2010

The lady of the night at this year’s MTV Music Video Awards was – without a doubt – Lady Gaga.

The performer went into the ceremony with 13 nominations, more than any other single artist has ever received. She ended up winning seven awards. Her song “Bad Romance” won Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, Best Dance Music Video, Best Choreography, Editing and Direction and the night’s most coveted trophy, Video of the Year.

She also won Best Collaboration for her work with Beyoncé on “Telephone.” Cher presented Gaga with her trophy for Video of the Year Award, wearing an outfit that was almost as eccentric as Gaga’s “meat dress” an ensemble made with real meat.

Young Canadian heartthrob, Justin Bieber, won Best New Artist, proving that his popularity is still going strong.

And then there was Kanye West. Many were expecting a reunion between West and Taylor Swift, whose acceptance speech West interrupted a year ago. But that was not to be. Instead, West closed the show with a song that boasted about what a jerk he was. Swift performed earlier on in the show, singing a track off her new album. Kanye West is rumored to be the subject of the song, titled “Speak Now.”

And since the event took place in Los Angeles, I thought I would share a few of the city’s best luxury hotels:

Not sure how relevant, time will tell. Rock on Gaga.
