November 18th to the 21st is a time that all photography lovers have marked on their calendars. The annual photography fair, Paris Photo, will present the finest works of photographic expression from the 19th century to the present day.
Under the prestigious Louvre Pyramid, over 1,000 international artists will be represented along with numerous book signing sessions by photographers as well as conferences allowing visitors to dive deeper into photography’s impact on our world.
Also at this event is The BMW – Paris Photo Prize. This prize is given to a contemporary photographer for a work on a BMW-inspired theme. This prize has become an international reference in its support for contemporary photography. This year’s theme is Electric Vision. Here’s a sampling of the past BMW – Paris Photo prize winners:
November is also the month where Paris will turn into the photographic capital of the world. Paris Photo will coincide with the month long photo event “Mois de la Photo”, which this year will focus on themed or monographic sets of pictures form the collection at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie.
