Now in its third year running, the annual travel bloggers fundraiser known as Passports with Purpose (PwP), has started up again. This year’s goal: build a village in India.
Originally started by the philanthropic bloggers of Delicious Baby, Nerd’s Eye View, WanderMom, and Wanderlust and Lipstick, Passports with Purpose raised $7,500 in 2008 to fight poverty for Heifer international, and quadrupled that amount last year. Yep, in 2009 this community of bloggers from all over the world came together in cyberspace and raised enough money to build a school in Cambodia.
This year, PwP is supporting LAFTI, an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the India’s poorest, the Dalit Caste, also known as “the untouchables”. The goal is to raise $50,000 and use this money to build a village in India. That’s right, an entire village, providing roofs over the heads of hundreds of families.
How does PwP work?
Every time a donor gives $10, they’ll receive one entry towards a drawing for their prize of choice. These prizes vary from flight vouchers, iPads, travel gear and much more!
Kiwi Collection believes that this is an amazing cause to support, so working alongside travel blogger Matt Long of LandLopers.com we are giving away a donation prize of a 3-night stay at the amazing Tiara Park Atlantic Lisbon in Lisbon, Portugal.
How you can donate to Passports with Purpose:
1. Head on over to the Passports with Purpose donation page
2. Choose from one of the amazing prizes listed (might we suggest, a 3 night stay at the Tiara Park Atlantic Lisbon)
3. Enter your email address at the bottom of the donation page and submit your donation
4. Feel good knowing you have contributed to something great and walk away with some fantastic prizes
Act fast because you only have until December 13th 2010. And be sure to tell your friends so PwP reaches their goal of $50,000.
