Rafael Nadal wins US Open

Nadal secured his position as one of tennis’s all-time greats yesterday when he beat Novak Djokovic. The game ended with scores of 5-7, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.

The 24-year old Spaniard has now won nine Grand Slam titles, succeeding in winning all four majors.

A friendly rivalry between Nadal and Roger Federer (whom Djokovic beat to advance to the finals) has delighted tennis fans in recent years, as the two have dominated the men’s game.

As of now, Federer still has a record 16 majors, but Nadal is younger, so who knows what will happen in the next few years…
