Spotlight: The St. Regis Bangkok

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

There’s something special about each and every luxury hotel. In our Spotlight series we showcase one property and highlight its most fantastic features—both the latest and longstanding. This week, we look into a special event at The St. Regis Bangkok.

Spot: On Rajadamri Road, where commerce and culture intersect in Bangkok, Thailand, this hotel is a haven amongst the business hustle. As it’s 35 minutes from the airport and just a few from both Lumpini Park—with its lakes and greenery—and boutiques such as Bulgari and Valentino, it offers the best of everything. Suites with floor-to-ceiling windows provide astounding views (the exercise room too) and the Elemis Spa more than takes care of all guests’ pampering needs. The dining and drinking options are many and all to-die-for.

Highlight: The hotel’s Italian-inspired restaurant Jojo is bringing a little Venice to Bangkok, so you can celebrate two cities at once. For the month of February, to mark the Carnival of Venice, Chef Carlo Valenziano has created a special menu of authentic Venetian flavors for lunch and dinner. Sample items include black ink Venetian risotto with fresh cuttlefish and frittelle e galani with zabaglione Venetian doughnut. There are also live opera performances every Thursday to Sunday to make your meal that much more atmospheric. Also, any guest that mentions “Venetian Carnival” when making a reservation receives a complimentary Bellini. Cheers to that!
