There’s no better time to make an escape to the Caribbean than February. It’s cold and miserable in most northern countries, but beautiful and warm in Barbados. Luckily for sun seekers, one of our excellent resorts in Barbados has a great Valentine’s Day package that’s good for the whole month.

Guests at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion will enjoy the famous west coast of Barbados and fabulous ocean views from their suites.

This plantation-style luxury resort is found right on the beach.

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion’s February package includes:

Learn to Scuba Dive with the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Barbados

Monday, August 31st, 2009

It isn’t known as ‘The Jewel in the Crown of Barbados’ for nothing: the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Barbados has played host to some of the world’s biggest celebrities and public figures. This gorgeous luxury resort in Barbados is offering a special package for guests who want to learn how to scuba dive in the Caribbean – and the deal is pretty good for this caliber of hotel.

Situated on the island’s prestigious west coast, guests will find themselves right on a sugary white sand beach. Rooms have gorgeous views of the warm Caribbean Sea and are tastefully decorated in an easy Caribbean style.

One of our favourite features of this hotel is that each room has a private balcony or terrace with a view of either the lush gardens at the resort or the ocean.

For guests who want to learn how to dive and receive their diving certificate, the hotel is offering a special promotion. This five night stay package includes:

•    Luxury accommodation in an ocean front deluxe room
•    Champagne in your room upon your arrival
•    Daily breakfast enjoyed in the resort’s ocean side Café Taboras
•    PADI Open Water Dive Certification (inclusive of all equipment)
•    Private tour to snorkel and swim with the turtles on the luxurious west coast

the-fairmont-royal-pavilion_0754_09From now until November 7, 2009, the package costs $3,170. From November 7 to December 18, 2009, the package costs $3,920.

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion was formerly The Miramar Hotel, which was built in the 1940s as the first hotel to be constructed on the West Coast of Barbados. At this time, the property comprised just twelve rooms.

The hotel was acquired by Princess Hotels in February 1996 and then became a Canadian Pacific hotel, following the merger of these two brands in 1998. In October 1999, following the acquisition by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, the property was renamed The Fairmont Royal Pavilion.
