Vid Trippin': Earth

- Joy Pecknold, Passport blog editor

You don’t need 80 days to go around the world, only five minutes.

And forget bird’s eye, when you can have a space station’s view of the planet. Photos taken some 350 kilometers up by crew aboard the International Space Station from August to October of last year were strung together to create this spectacular short film. You’ll see the undulating Northern Lights, gathering storms and many splotches of light where cities sit.

If commercial space travel is the next frontier, maybe some of us will be getting this earth-facing view from a king-sized bed in the not too distant future. W Moon has a nice ring to it.
