Hello from England - the kind of summer's day when people living here in the countryside open their gardens in aid of the local church (but you pay extra for a homemade tea with masses of calorie-full clotted cream). But I am off traveling again this afternoon, so you can have even more to read next month.
Please enjoy the rest of this month's WOW.travel. Our Insider is Amedeo Ottaviani, one of Italy's best-known hoteliers; Concierge Corner covers Boston, as seen Marc Simoneau of the InterContinental Boston; Style Specialist is Aaron Stewart, Creative Director of Sfrerra, and Away Nights is The Hazelton, Toronto. See also Seven Sensational Rooftop Terraces. As always, there are hosts of exciting entries in both VIP and future events and happenings. Around The World this month takes us to Beijing, Cambodia and St Petersburg, Russia, as well as offering biking ideas for active vacations and describing the latest on space travel.

Silver Cloud sails to St. Petersburg
Cruise the Baltic on smaller ships, as they can get closer into city centers. In St Petersburg, for instance, SilverSea's 296-passenger Silver Cloud can go right up the Neva River to the English Embankment, near the Hermitage. We also had a day there in Russia's most luxurious river boat, (with, from left, Thomas and Tanya Noll, and Alexander Prokhorenko, Chairman, St Petersburg Government Committee for External Relations). Read more about St Petersburg in this month's Around the World.

Hotel de Russie's heartwarming hideaway
In Rome, Rocco Forte’s Hotel de Russie has developed an intimate hideaway. Tucked away in the hotel's near-vertical 17th century Giardino Segreto gardens is Le Jardin Prive, a secluded terrace for two. You have a nine-course banquet, prepared by Michelin-starred Fulvio Pierangelini, and you start, of course, with Dom Pérignon.Hotel de Russie, Rome, Italy See other hotels in Rome (12)

This jet is worth the wait
The most coveted private jet at the moment is, apparently, Bombardier's ten-seat Challenger 850 (photo). But guess what, even if you order now the wait list means you will not get it until 2011. Its current list price is $55 million.

Brunelleschi's Florence
Artist Filippo Brunelleschi 1377-1446 (photo) is a reason to rush back to Florence. The city's Old Sacristy of San Lorenzo, the Medici family church that he designed, is filled with astronomical and astrological material. Brunelleschi and Galileo are among the many intriguing personalities on customized Florence science walks led by acclaimed Renaissance scholars, www.contextflorence.com.

Earthy artistic endeavors: from Italy to New Zealand
Talking of Italy, Monika Coscioni's stunning - and must-buy - jewelry and clothes can be bought in her studio in the old town of Orvieto. And on the arts front, do not drive around New Zealand without a copy of The Art of Canterbury, a guide to studios in a wide area (shown, Brian McCracken's Country Churchyard at the Bryce Gallery).
