Blending contemporary design and Balinese architecture, Alila Ubud is its own tranquil hillside village overlooking the Ayung River in Bali's central foothills.

At dusk (if you're lucky) guests can swim in the infinity pool, and watch a family of monkeys frolic on the forest's edge.

High on the edge of Bali's most picturesque valley, Alila Ubud offers culture and elegance surrounded by ecological wonders. A village in its own right, the hotel consist of 14 two-storey blocks and eight villas, each with panoramic views of the Ayung River.

Designed by Kerry Hill, the resort's rooms stand on stilts and blend modern materials with traditional design. Suites feature terraces or balconies; villas include either a wrap-around deck or a private outdoor bath.

Start the day off with a Thai massage in the open-air Mandara Spa or tour Alila Ubud's art gallery, then borrow a bike or take a guided trek in a nearby mountain village. Hot, humid afternoons are perfect for a swim in the spectacular pool. Perched on a ravine, emerald waters blend with the lush tree canopy.

End your evening with dinner under towering coconut pillars and the thatched roof of Alila Ubud's restaurant, where Executive Chef Stuart Blair artfully prepares and healthy, natural cuisine.

We spent our honeymoon trip in this hotel and found that the hotel is situated a quite far from the Ubud city. Once we arrive at the hotel, the staff offerred a luxurious welcome drink made by special traditional ingredients and they also add the similar drinks to our room. Excellent service was provided by the hotel staffs and very good bedroom. we enjoyed the quite condition during this trip and gave us lot of chance to communicate especially for us (new couple).
