Overview

At the base of Chile's Salt Mountains and near the Pucara de Quitor ruins lies Alto Atacama. Ten minutes from San Pedro, the hotel is an ideal jump point for exploring the region's raw nature.

Alto Atacama is built in the style of a traditional adobe settlement, complete with llamas and native crops. Alto Atacama is located in Chile's Catarpe valley, close to the pre-Columbian Pucara de Quitor, and ten minutes northeast of San Pedro. The road is great for taking a walk into the town, with views of the Andes and local farms along the way. The hotel also provides a transfer service; just ask at the front desk. The closest airport is the Calama Loa Airport - a two-hour flight from Santiago. Alto Atacama can arrange a private airport transfer, which takes about an hour.
