Amankila

Frangipani, Alang Alang, Kopi, and Bales. These are just some of the Balinese words that guests will be glad to become accustomed to. Amankila is perched amongst palm trees on a hillside, and features 34 free-standing thatched-roof suites. Elevated walkways connect you to reception, the restaurant, and of course, the bar. On your way, though, you might want to pause for a dip in the three-tiered infinity pool, gazing out across the Pacific, and inspired by the storied rice patties synonymous with the terrain.

And then, there's the beach. What can be said about private white sands, turquoise waters, and emerald green hills rising in the distance? A nice exhale will likely do the trick. For those that feel the need to explore, take one of the resort's two outriggers for a trip, and slip into a snorkeling wonderland including Elephant coral, and WWII wreck.

Much like Mount Agung, towering behind the resort, Amankila is to be revered, and always worth the journey.
