You'll stay in one of only eight stone, adobe, and wood cottages. Inside, they're all lush fabrics and sinkingly soft furnishings. Relax on your private patio, read about the incredible local history in your reading nook, and soak in the surroundings while you soap up in your outdoor shower.

At Awasi, you'll wake up to fresh juice, home-cooked bread, and adventure. Each cottage is assigned its own off-road jeep and guide. There are no pre-packed tours or itineraries. Instead, you'll pick from an incredible array of things to do, from a visit to a local hot-springs, to floating in a salt lake, to stopping in at an authentic local village.

For thousands of years, Chile's San Pedro de Atacama has been an oasis where travelers rested and re-fuelled for journeys across the desert, and the remains of a nearby settlement date to 800 B.C. The town of San Pedro de Atacama, just a few minutes from Awasi, has an archaeological museum with a collection of relics, including several mummies. Most visitors take the two hour flight into Calama City, from Santiago. From there, an Awasi guide drives guests the one hour to the resort.
