Catered in-room dining is a lock, but the more adventurous can head over to the lodge and chat with the concierge about restaurants in nearby Queenstown. After reserving the perfect spot, you may glance at hang-gliding and river surfing brochures. Hey, you only live once.

Azur is five minutes' drive from Queenstown, a busy resort community in the Central Otago region of New Zealand's South Island. A luxury Land Cruiser will pick you up at Queenstown Airport, which is one hour from Christchurch and two hours from Auckland. There are also direct flights to Queenstown from Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. If you drive from Christchurch, the scenic trip south takes five hours and 30 minutes.
