Anyone for cricket? Babington House's posh digs and picturesque grounds will have you reveling in the delights of English country living.

Have your pre-dinner drinks in your room: the bartender will bring his leather cocktail case and prepare them for you a la minute.

You're sitting in an English garden, waiting for the sun to slip down the sky so you can enjoy a rousing match on Babington House's grass tennis court. A few hours ago you awoke refreshed beneath the exposed beams of your room at the Coach House, next door to the stately Main House of this private club and 23-suite hotel. A hearty breakfast at House Kitchen, and then it was off to the charmingly named Cowshed Relax spa for a massage and a dip in the pool.

If you're a late riser, English breakfast is served all day at Babington House, whose accommodations include family-sized suites. Before or after savoring a seasonal prix-fixe dinner, you may find yourself sipping a gin and tonic at the comfy House Bar or taking in a film at the 45-seat cinema.
