Set amid the rugged and beautiful landscape of northern Australia, Bamurra Plains boasts luxurious accommodations and a safari experience with some of Oz's most exotic wildlife.

You'll hear guides refer to Bamurru Plains as exemplifying "wild bush luxury", and it certainly fits. "Wild bush" because it's in a far-flung corner of the Australian wilderness, and "luxury" because they provide the kind of creature comforts you just don't expect in the middle of the savannah bush.

The star attraction at Bamurru Plains is the wildlife. On safari, you'll look for wallabies, dingos, wild pigs, water buffalo, and crocodiles. And you won't have to look very hard for the crocs. The nearby (but not too nearby) Sampan River is home to one of the largest populations on the planet.

When you're not on safari, activities like airboat tours, bird-watching hikes, and river cruises will keep your camera, and soul, humming. Back at "camp", your very private safari suite is an ideal place to relax and romance. And while it does have an extremely comfortable bed, high pressure shower, and deluxe linens, don't look for a TV. With all the nature around, you won't miss it a bit.

Bamurru Plains is in Australia's Northern Territory, just to the west of Kakadu National Park, on the Mary River floodplains. The best way to reach it is via a 20 minute flight from Darwin airport. Some guests will arrive via a flight from Kakadu National Park, which is approximately the same distance away. By road, Bamurru Plains is approximately three hours from Darwin, and two and a half hours from Jabiru, in Kakadu National Park.
