Mayan ruins
River canoeing
The planet
Chaa Creek is a luxury jungle experience on a 365-acre nature reserve in western Belize. This is lush and romantic rainforest, where a beautiful river rolls languidly by, monkeys peer out from the trees, and ancient Mayan ruins wait to be explored.
Days here are spent satisfying your inner Indiana Jones. You'll take to the river to canoe beneath a thick jungle canopy, ride trails on horseback, and hike to vine-choked Mayan ruin sites. And all of it is done with an eco-friendly goal of learning about the natural world around you, with the guides being a wellspring of information about the ecology and history of the area.
Nights are a relaxed and peaceful affair. You'll bond with your fellow guests over rum and fruit juice, then head to the Chaa Creek restaurant for an eclectic and delicious dinner overlooking the darkening jungle. Then it's back to your beautifully furnished, palm-thatched cottage, perhaps for a Jacuzzi for two, certainly for a blissful sleep.
