Grand Barrail Château Resort & Spa

Grand Barrail Château Resort & Spa is somewhat unusual in that the hotel itself is comprised of the primary Château and three annexes that together, offer 41 rooms and five suites - most also have a terrace or balcony. No matter which room or suite you select, you are assured a view of the seven-plus acre vineyard that surrounds the hotel. The Château Grand Barrail is the only 19th-century château of the Bordelais right bank. It also enjoyed a comprehensive renovation that was completed in 2009.

While enjoying the gastronomy of Southwest France with a rare Bordeaux, take a moment to examine the stained glass windows and frescoes in the Salon Mauresque. The inspiration for this décor was derived from the original owner's adventures in Saudi Arabia, making it quite unique for the Bordelais region. As in interesting footnote, Spa Saint Emilion is also one of the only medicalized spas in France offering intensive treatments under the supervision of a doctor.
