An evening in the Grange for authentic Southern Style Slow food is a must - vote the #1 restaurant in Sacramento.
Walking into the Citizen, guests' imaginations run wild. The grand entranceway evokes images of old film stars exiting Bugattis and Rolls Royces. In the lobby, high ceilings and countless books form an intriguing background for the front desk's pop of crimson red.
It would be a shame to simply check in and let the curious feeling that's come over you end, so why not stay a while in this slightly mysterious spot? Just above you is Scandal, a vertical extension of the lobby. Sit down, case the joint, and sip on an Old Fashioned.
Later, up in you room, (one of 198) toss your luggage down on Italian linens. Check your watch and hurry down the hall to catch the last moments of the hotel's complementary wine hour. You pass a cluster of businessmen chortling as they head to their conference; they seem to have come from dinner, so you head in the direction they came from to find Grange. After sampling the all-California wine list and free-range meats cooked in an American Brasserie style, you see what the boys were so a-twitter about.
