An adventure in both the culinary and nature worlds, Cradle Mountain lodge offers guided tours of what makes Tasmania look, feel, smell, and taste like nowhere else on earth.

Just across the Bass Straight from mainland Australia, lies Tasmania, an island state even more untamed and inspiring than it's much larger counterpart. On that island, tucked into landscape that could be described as almost prehistoric, is Cradle Mountain Lodge.

A range of well-heeled suites and cabins (all with wood fireplaces, some with outdoor jacuzzis) sit in an uneasy truce with the all-encompassing flora and fauna of the region. Not to worry, though - nature has no reason to be at odds with Cradle Mountain, as it's eco certified.

Tomorrow, you'll likely set out on one of 20 treks about the region, spotting trees, waterfalls, lakes, valleys, and wildlife. Or perhaps it's fly fishing, quading, or canoeing? Whatever your plans tomorrow, it's best tuck into some serious eats tonight. Cradle Mountain's two restaurants are more than happy to oblige. Enjoy rustic breads, local fish, game, and fresh greens, all paired with subtle wines from Tasmania.
