A classic safari lodge on the wildlife-rich plains of Kenya, Elewana Elsa’s Kopje Meru is an all-inclusive African adventure at the top of its game.
From the infinity pool of Elewana Elsa’s Kopje Meru, the view of the vast plain studded with baobab trees makes you feel like you're in the movies. In fact, this lodge - tucked into a kopje or small hill in Kenya's Meru National Park - is named after the lioness immortalized in the Oscar-winning 1966 film Born Free. Below it is the original campsite of game warden George Adamson, who raised Elsa with his wife Joy.
Elewana Elsa’s Kopje Meru consists of eight thatch-roofed view cottages, decorated and furnished in African safari style. Want more space and privacy? Set off from the main building, two-bedroom Elsa's Private House has en-suite bathrooms, a living and dining area, and its own garden and plunge pool.
As a guest of the park's only fully functioning lodge, you'll have the run of the place. Guided game drives - watch for lions, elephants, and rare white rhinos from your Land Rover - bush meals, and fishing trips are just a few of the outdoor activities.
