It's another gorgeous sunset at Epacha Game Lodge & Spa, which stands atop a hill on the rolling Namibian savanna, amid its own 51,900-acre preserve. To make the most of this grand setting, you'll stay in the spacious Royal Impala Lodge, a private villa set apart from the main property. The turn-of-last-century furniture and decor transport you back to colonial times, while the swimming pool and butler service would be the envy of any Victorian explorer.

Epacha Game Lodge & Spa has 18 thatch-roofed luxury chalets, each with a private balcony and second open-air shower. This may be the bush, but creature comforts are abundant, from the cigar lounge and wine cellar to the Mystique Spa, whose amenities include a sauna, Jacuzzi, and steam room.

You'll also see a profusion of wildlife in Epacha Game Preserve, which shelters endangered species like black rhino and sable antelope. At your request, game drives go farther afield to teeming Etosha National Park.

Epacha Game Lodge & Spa is in the north of the Republic of Namibia, a southern African country on the Atlantic Ocean. Near the gates of Etosha National Park, the resort is four hours and 30 minutes' drive north of Windhoek, the Namibian capital. You can also fly there from Windhoek in about two hours.
