Cresting the rise leading to the entrance of Le Manoir Richelieu, you might expect to see a horse drawn carriage and Cinderella herself heading to the ball at this "castle on the cliff."

Watching over the St. Lawrence River, the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is the only grand hotel in Charlevoix County, Quebec, and it looks more like an authentic French castle than a Canadian luxury hotel. Covering several acres high on the cliffs, there are 405 guest rooms and suites adorned with furniture and art that pay homage to this historically rich region. While exploring the hotel, look for the large scale oil paintings depicting scenes from pre-confederation Canada.

The Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu also prides itself on its conference and meetings facilities. It certainly would be a dramatic place to hold a conference and with a Grand Ball Room that can accommodate 1000 people there is certainly no shortage of space. The closest international airport - Aéroport de Québec (Jean Lesage airport) - is also about a two-hour drive. The smaller, privately run Aéroport de Charlevoix is just 15 minutes from the Fairmont and is ideal for private and charter flights. If you are traveling from the Maritimes, catching the ferry to the hotel is a great option.
