A converted flour mill in central Frankfurt, the Gerbermuehle manages to be both comforting hotel, and austere exercise in modern form.

Prepare to be charmed by this converted mill set on a serene river.

When the smell of freshly baked bread wafts up from the restaurant kitchen, the fact that this was German millhouse becomes very evident. Built in the 16th Century, the Gerbermuehle is a now style-obsessed hotel where exposed beams, irregularly shaped rooms, and vaulted ceilings reveal hints of its varied pedigree.

Light spills into the bright lobby, and offsets an otherwise dark combination of dusky stone flooring and black wallpaper. Dramatic to say the least, the interior design theme leaps from pink beds and bright walls, to stone walls and post-modern furnishings.

The hotel's 500-seat Summer Garden buzzes with locals catching a drink before ballet at The Forsythe Company, or a performance at the nearby Frankfurt Opera. On warm summer evenings, walk along the River Main before the show, and give your legs a soon-to-be-deserved pre-stretch.

The visited hotel "Gerbermuehle" is a smart, small hotel in the outskirts of the "Mainhatten" / Frankfurt, it offers pleasant comfort and a comprehensive equipment. The look at the river Main is wonderful. The rooms dispose of a high standard and are very clean. The bed offered a good sleeping comfort. Especially positively: the drinks in the minibar are included! The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. The restaurant offers a qualitatively high-quality, delicate kitchen. The dishes are freshly prepared and served by very friendly waiters. The hotel is a recommendation for people who prefer the discreet luxury.
