Hapuku Lodge and Treehouses are proof you can surround yourself with breathtaking luxury and still have a positive impact on the environment. Built by a family of architects in 1995, this eco-friendly dwelling is hugged by the Kaikoura Seaward Mountain Range on one side and offers amazing views of beautiful Mangamaunu Bay on the other.
The lodge's contemporary luxury suites and five amazing tree houses were designed to blend with the property's spectacular natural setting. All feature large, light-filled rooms and furniture handcrafted by local artisans. The tree houses are nestled 30 ft. above the ground in the canopy of a native Manuka grove and boast large windows that bring the trees right into your room.
The lodge is surrounded by a sustainable deer stud farm that includes an olive grove, fruit orchards, and a vineyard. You'll love exploring the grounds and sampling its bounty in the dining room, where you can savor fresh local ingredients at in front of a blazing fire.

Hapuku Lodge is located 10 minutes north of Kaikoura on New Zealand's South Island. The town boasts an eclectic population of fishermen, farmers, and artisans who have turned their town into an eco-tourism Mecca. The drive from Christchurch to Kaikoura takes about two hours, 45 minutes.
