An Art Nouveau mansion at the foot of the Pyrenees, Hospes Villa Paulita offers country luxury at its finest, from leisurely strolls through forests to decadent gourmet meals.

Less than two hours from Toulouse and Barcelona, Hospes Villa Paulita was once a family retreat in the countryside, and still looks the part. This restored mansion is set in a forested park, with beautiful gardens dotted with decorative glass pyramids.

The 38 rooms and suites feature contemporary black and white decor, sheer curtains, designer lighting, and unique art. Mansion rooms have many of the original features, including wood-beamed ceilings, stained glass windows, and wrought iron balustrades. Many have views of the Pyrenees.

At the hotel's restaurant, Senzone L'Estany de Puigcerda, traditional recipes get a modern twist. With a panoramic view of the Puigcerda Lake, this is a wonderful place for leisurely Spanish-style meals.

The area is popular for hiking and golfing, but travelers also use Hospes Villa Paulita as a home base for skiing the Pyrenees. Back at Hospes, retire to the Bodyna Spa and enjoy the heated pool, massage and treatment area, and saunas.
