It has to be said: this hotel has caused quite a splash. With that over, Hotel das Cataratas can best be described as living in nature as opposed to near it. As far as hotels go, it's all alone in Iguassu National Park, a protected rainforest area featuring an unparalleled breadth of cascading waterfalls. Waterfalls that guests are allowed to privately view before the national park opens each day.
Inside the hotel, 193 brightly colored rooms - including 15 suites - feature original, local art, crisp-yet-soft bedding, and modern touches like AC and LCD TVs. Outside on the grounds, a large pool and smaller kid's pool supply refreshment from the Brazilian sun, and tennis courts await should you want to break a sweat.
The real feature, though, is the park itself; hikes, nature exhibitions with an in-house biologist, heli-tours, and endless trails await guests. Don't worry about getting dirty, though, the hotel is always nearby.
