Overview
When you stay at Hotel Portillo, in the Chilean Andes, it's not your typical hotel experience. This is an all-inclusive package at a ski resort with no town, no crowds, and no worries.
It works a bit like a cruise ship. You stay for a week, and everything is included; lift tickets, your room, and four meals a day. You even have your own reserved table in the dining room for the whole week.
The skiing, by the way, is incredible, with long runs, tons of varied terrain for all levels, and some of the lightest powder you've ever experience. Lift lines here are a rarity, so make sure you've got the legs for a full day of turning and burning.
After your big day, you'll need an appropriate wind-down. Which is why it's so important to spend at least part of your après-ski time relaxing in the outdoor Jacuzzi next to the incredible mountain view. If you're still a bit tight, a massage should have you pliable in no time.
