Eating unlimited Japanese-prepared sushi - rooftop terrace in summer, a few yards from the Rhine - is an unforgettable experience
Pattern. Color. Light. Form. These are all to be studied with a keen eye upon entering the innovatively shaped Kameha Grand. Arched, and made predominantly from glass and steel, Kameha Grand seems like some enormous pebble landed on Bonn's riverbank - perhaps floated down from the future.
In actuality, the exterior is thanks to architect, Karl-Heinz Schommer. About the interior you may wonder? Marcel Wanders was the man at the helm there, splashing large graphic patterns, curious textures, and iconic shapes through common areas, conference rooms, 190 rooms, and 63 suites.
Wanders' touch even extends to the rooftop spa and pool, where laid-back guests look down to the Rhine, and up to the stars.
Four bars await the thirsty traveler, one of which is the Pure Gold Bar, where the décor (although obvious) is rich. Three restaurants are also on offer, including the open-air Riverside Terasse, Next Level Brasserie, and the ornate Yu Sushi Club. Sushi on the Rhine, you say? Well, German precision seems a pretty good match for this delicate Japanese cuisine.
