Overview

A massive palace hidden away in a forgotten corner of the Pacific Northwest, King Pacific Lodge is a coastal refuge that offers a standard of seclusion you'll be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

One delicious irony resulting from Northern British Columbia's extreme lack of development is that its virgin beauty is now a huge commercial draw. King Pacific Lodge feels as though it's sitting on the edge of the earth, and people love it.

Upon arriving at the lodge - by floatplane, it's completely inaccessible any other way - say goodbye to counting minutes, hours, and calories. Here, time slides by with the sun and moon. There are only four things to do at King Pacific Lodge: eat, sleep, relax, and explore.

The attractions around the lodge don't have publicists; they're jewels of nature and they speak for themselves. Kayak, fish, or track orca whales in the early morning - catch them at the right time and you might see them breach, as if trying to touch the sky. Or take a helicopter up to the Rockies and go hiking through its hidden canyons. After dinner, lie back on the dock with a book and listen to the loons cry into the night.

King Pacific Lodge is situated in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia, Canada. Cut off from the world by severe winters, this area has been largely overlooked by commercial developers. The result - pristine temperate rainforest and clear ocean waters as far as the eye can see. Here, your summer neighbors are the elusive white Spirit Bear, orca whales, and bald eagles. The lodge is accessible by charter flights from Vancouver and seaplane transfers from Bella Bella, B.C.

The nearest airport is Vancouver International Aiport
