Thai cuisine
At some point in their life, most skiers have bunked down in a musty, old lodge with ratty furniture, tiny rooms that never get warm, and an après ski menu highlighted by greasy burgers. Le Mélézin is exactly unlike that lodge.
Set in Courchevel in the French Alps, it's surrounded by the largest ski area in the world. Designed to resemble a medieval Savoy fortress, Le Mélézin may have a tough exterior, but inside it's all coddling decadence. Red cedar planks and parquet flooring give it a warm, ski-lodge feel, while the linen carpeting and granite bathrooms offer a welcome modernity. Oh, and the twin washbasins will help you be first on the slopes, and first to get ready for après ski.
The main salon's open fireplace will warm your toes after a day on the slopes, while the cocktail bar will warm your insides. Replenish your body and soul with your choice of traditional French cuisine or spicy Thai cooking, or a visit to the classic Turkish-style hammam steam room.
