Overview
Mchenja Bush Camp is a luxury wildlife lodge and game reserve in Zambia made up of five stylishly designed thatched roof tents adorned with private decks just steps from the Luangwa River. Mchenja Bush Camp is the most luxurious wildlife camp in the Norman Carr Safari group, specializing in "walking safaris."
The the thrill of Safari is what draws people to Mchenja. However, Mchenja's superb location means that some of Africa's most spectacular creatures occasionally saunter right past the camp. In fact, while cooling off in the small pool alongside the bar you might be lucky enough to see an elephant following your lead in the river a few hundred yards away. It should come as no surprise that game viewing in this area is superb and the opportunity to embark on a night drive - when the big cats are most active - should not be missed.

Mchenja Bush Camp is located on the banks of the Luangwa River in South Luangwa National Park, South Africa. Access to the bush camp is via Norman Carr Safaris' permanent lodge, Kapani. From Kapani, Mchenja can be reached on foot or jeep. Kapini can be accessed from Mfuwe airport and transfer will be arranged by the lodge.
