When you arrive at Mombo Camp, the first thing you'll notice - other than the beauty of the surrounding landscape - is that the tent suites stand six feet off the ground. When you ask why, your guide will happily explain that animals, big animals, sometimes walk right through the camp.
Not to worry, though; the camp is lovely, but it's also built for safety. Mombo Camp is surrounded by open floodplains, and is a goldmine for animal viewing any time of the year. Elephants and big cats are especially abundant, but on your twice-a-day safari drives, you'll also look out for buffalo, dingoes, elephants, rhinos, and giraffes.
Besides your luxuriously furnished tent, the camp features a dining room, living area, a plunge pool, and a pub. And no matter where you are, you'll have an amazing view of the delta, and whatever happens to be roaming it.
