It's worth remembering though, with neighbors like Te Papa (a magnificent museum not to be missed), Wellington’s waterfront, life theaters, designer shopping, city markets, and Oriental Parade’s promenade and beach, no one is complaining. And once one steps inside Museum Art Hotel, all thoughts of what lies beyond its walls disappear.
In typical, high-end Kiwi style, this beautiful boutique hotel is flush with fantastic artwork, unique designs, and a perfect restaurant. Hippopotamus, in fact, is the name of said establishment, where outstanding French cuisine might convince diners that a hippopotamus’ life may not be so bad… if one could eat like this all day.
Museum Art Hotel originally rested on Te Papa’s current site, but it was moved over for the real museum. The hotel is now home to two wings: the Apartment Wing (Marina Studio, Two Bedroom Apartment, Twin Studio, One Bedroom Suite, Premier Studio, and Access Room) and the Hotel Wing (Harbor Room and Classic Deluxe Room).
